 Arkansas Strong exists to strengthen community resilience by educating families about emergency preparedness before disasters occur. 

Emergency management leaders across Central Arkansas recently participated in a survey about community readiness for major disasters.

One concern was shared by nearly every leader:

Many citizens believe the government will be able to rescue them quickly during a major disaster.

But in reality, emergency systems can become overwhelmed within hours.

Large storms, tornado outbreaks, earthquakes, and other catastrophic events can disrupt:

Roads
Power
Communication
Emergency response access
 

Prepared households reduce pressure on emergency responders and improve survival outcomes.

Arkansas Strong focuses on simple, realistic preparedness education centered around the 3-72 Rule.

This approach emphasizes:
