Why This Matters
Emergency management leaders across Central Arkansas recently participated in a survey about community readiness for major disasters.
One concern was shared by nearly every leader:
Many citizens believe the government will be able to rescue them quickly during a major disaster.
But in reality, emergency systems can become overwhelmed within hours.
Large storms, tornado outbreaks, earthquakes, and other catastrophic events can disrupt:
